Good morning,
Where do Scripture and Prayer rank in your life? Now, I know what answer people will give with their lips. I'm not asking for that answer. I'm asking where Scripture and Prayer rank in your daily living. Do you even notice if you miss a day?
Scripture and Prayer should be so foundational in our daily lives that it would inconceivable that we would ever miss out on our time with Scripture and Prayer. You are way less likely to be broken over lostness and burdened by your responsibility to impact that lostness with the gospel of Jesus Christ if Scripture and Prayer aren't a vital part of your life.
16All Scripture is inspired by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, for training in righteousness; 17so that the man of God may be adequate, equipped for every good work.
New American Standard Bible: 1995 Update (La Habra, CA: The Lockman Foundation, 1995), 2 Ti 3:16–17.
God speaks through His Word. He teaches through His Word. He reproves and corrects through His Word. He trains us in righteousness through His Word. God uses His Word so that we would be equipped for every good work that He has prepared for us. You aren't growing if you aren't reading. You aren't developing compassion if you aren't spending time with His Word.
God speaks to us through His Word, we speak to God through prayer.
16Therefore, confess your sins to one another, and pray for one another so that you may be healed. The effective prayer of a righteous man can accomplish much.
New American Standard Bible: 1995 Update (La Habra, CA: The Lockman Foundation, 1995), Jas 5:16.
There is so much I could say about prayer. There is no way to say it all in one article. For the purposes of this article I want to highlight that we are to pray for others. We are to pray for our brothers and sisters in Christ, but we are also to pray for those that are lost. We must spend time praying for specific people to be saved.
I don't know about you but I want to see people saved. Let God move you through His Word and then pray for God's will to be to use you for a person to be saved.
Serving Him,
Bro. Joey
