Hey Guys,
“Do you want to be made well?”
That’s the question Jesus asked a man who had been sick, lame, and lying by a pool for thirty-eight years.
Thirty-eight years of waiting.
Thirty-eight years of disappointment.
Thirty-eight years of brokenness with no relief in sight.
This man had been near the pool of Bethesda—a place where healing was rumored, where people waited for something miraculous to stir the waters. But he never made it in time. Always too slow. Always overlooked. Always just short of help.
Then one day, Jesus walked in.
The Power of a Question
Jesus doesn’t begin with a miracle.
He doesn’t start with a sermon.
He starts with a question:
“Do you want to be made well?” (John 5:6, NASB)
It’s more than a surface-level inquiry. It’s a soul-level confrontation.
More Than Physical Healing
This Sunday, we’ll explore the story in John 5:1–18, a passage that reveals not only the compassion of Christ, but also His divine authority—and the conflict that followed.
We’ll look at five truths from this powerful moment:
Why This Matters for You
We all have areas in our lives where we feel paralyzed—spiritually, emotionally, relationally.
The good news of John’s Gospel is this:
“These have been written so that you may believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God; and that by believing you may have life in His name.”
— John 20:31
Jesus is still asking the question today:
Do you want to be made well?

“Do you want to be made well?” (John 5:6, NASB)
It’s more than a surface-level inquiry. It’s a soul-level confrontation.
- Are you tired of being stuck?
- Are you willing to let go of excuses?
- Are you ready to trust in the One who has the power to make you whole?
More Than Physical Healing
This Sunday, we’ll explore the story in John 5:1–18, a passage that reveals not only the compassion of Christ, but also His divine authority—and the conflict that followed.
We’ll look at five truths from this powerful moment:
- The Condition of the Man – A picture of pain and waiting.
- The Compassion of the Savior – A divine invitation to healing.
- The Controversy of the Miracle – When tradition is offended by truth.
- The Command to Walk in Righteousness – A call to live changed.
- The Conflict with the Religious – A confrontation with the claims of Christ.
Why This Matters for You
We all have areas in our lives where we feel paralyzed—spiritually, emotionally, relationally.
- Maybe it’s a sin you can’t seem to overcome.
- Maybe it’s a season of suffering that has drained your hope.
- Maybe you’ve been waiting for something—anything—to change.
The good news of John’s Gospel is this:
“These have been written so that you may believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God; and that by believing you may have life in His name.”
— John 20:31
