Hey Guys,
Did You Find Rest in His Word This Week?
This past Sunday, we opened God’s Word and explored Matthew 11:28-30 and Hebrews 4:12 in our sermon, "Finding Rest in His Word." We were reminded that true rest isn’t found in escaping our problems but in drawing near to Jesus through Scripture.
But hearing the message isn’t enough—now it's time to live it out.
James 1:22 tells us, "But prove yourselves doers of the word, and not just hearers who deceive themselves."
The real transformation happens when we apply what we’ve learned.
3 Ways to Apply This Week’s Sermon
1. Commit to Daily Time in the Word
We saw how God’s Word is alive and active (Hebrews 4:12), yet so often we treat it as optional. This week, make a commitment to spend at least 10 minutes a day in Scripture.
? Practical Step: Start in Matthew 11 or choose a Psalm to meditate on. Keep a journal and write down one truth each day.
? Ask yourself: Am I making time for God’s Word, or just fitting it in when it’s convenient?
2. Replace Distractions with Scripture
Many of us feel spiritually drained, but it’s often because we fill our minds with everything except God’s Word. We binge social media, news, or entertainment, yet wonder why we struggle to hear God’s voice.
? Practical Step: Set a timer on your phone to limit distractions and use that time for Bible reading instead. Swap 10 minutes of scrolling with 10 minutes of reading a Psalm, a Proverb, or a chapter in the Gospels.
? Ask yourself: What’s competing for my time and attention that I need to surrender to God?
3. Share God’s Word with Someone This Week
God’s Word isn’t just for us—it’s meant to be shared! When we encourage others with Scripture, we help them find rest in Jesus too.
? Practical Step:
✔️ Text a Bible verse to a friend who needs encouragement.
✔️ Share what you learned in Sunday’s sermon with someone at work or home.
✔️ Post your favorite verse from this week’s reading on social media.
? Ask yourself: Who in my life needs the encouragement of God’s Word this week?
Let’s Keep Growing Together!
Let’s commit to being doers of the Word, not just hearers.
? Drop a comment below:
✅ What’s one verse that stood out to you this week?
✅ How are you making time for God’s Word in your daily life?
? If you need prayer or encouragement, send us a message—we’re here for you!
