Good morning,
What is the greatest gift you have ever been given? That question, no doubt, will cause our minds to think back to those memorable Christmas mornings, birthdays, anniversaries, etc. However, none of those gifts could ever come close enough to even be mentioned with the truly greatest gift ever given. Jesus Christ died on the cross so that we could have salvation when we confess Him as Lord of our lives.
16“For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life.
New American Standard Bible: 1995 Update (La Habra, CA: The Lockman Foundation, 1995), Jn 3:16.
Whoever
God's love and offer of salvation is available to whoever. That means that anybody can be saved through Jesus Christ. This gift is free and undeserved but there is something that you must do.
Believe in Him
You must, by faith, believe that Jesus is Who He says He is. He accomplished what He said He would accomplish. He is doing, right now, what He said He would be doing. And, He is coming again, just as He said He would.
Confess
9that if you confess with your mouth Jesus as Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved; 10 for with the heart a person believes, resulting in righteousness, and with the mouth he confesses, resulting in salvation.
New American Standard Bible: 1995 Update (La Habra, CA: The Lockman Foundation, 1995), Ro 10:9–10.
Jesus Christ did all that was necessary to reconcile us to God. However, we must die to self. We must acknowledge that He is our Lord. We must submit to His Lordship.
The Result
16“For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life.
New American Standard Bible: 1995 Update (La Habra, CA: The Lockman Foundation, 1995), Jn 3:16.
We were not promised a life, on this earth, free from trials and tribulations. We were promised eternal life. We were promised that we can rest in Him. We were promised that we can take courage in Him. We were promised that we could have salvation in Him.
Serving Him,
Bro. Joey
