Hey Guys,
In today’s culture, we’re constantly encouraged to promote ourselves, chase influence, and measure our worth by how many people are paying attention to us. Social media, career paths, even personal relationships can become platforms for self-glorification if we’re not careful.
But in John 3:30, we hear a radically different perspective—one that cuts against the grain of the world and reveals the heart of genuine discipleship:
“He must increase, but I must decrease.”
Those are the words of John the Baptist. His popularity was waning, his followers were shrinking, and Jesus was now gathering crowds. But instead of bitterness or competition, John responded with joy and surrender. Why? Because John knew his purpose was never to build his own following—it was to point people to the Lamb of God.
This Sunday at New Hope Baptist Church, we’ll dive deep into John 3:22–36 in a message titled “Less of Me, More of Him.” This powerful passage reminds us of four key truths:
If you’ve ever struggled with pride, jealousy, insecurity, or just the temptation to live for yourself—this message is for you. If you're weary in your service and wondering if what you do matters—this message is for you. And if you’ve never truly surrendered your life to Jesus Christ, this is the day to come and believe.
Let’s be honest: most of us don’t naturally want to decrease. But what if true joy isn’t found in being the center—but in making much of the One who truly is?
Come join us this Sunday as we lift high the name of Jesus and pray together for hearts that say:
“Less of me, more of Him.”

- The danger of comparison in ministry and life
- The joy that comes from stepping back so Christ can step forward
- The supremacy of Jesus over all things
- The urgent call to believe in the Son before it's too late
