Hey Guys,
This past Sunday, we explored the profound truth of John 1:1-5 in our sermon, The Word That Brings Life, part of our “Believe” series. Together, we encountered Jesus Christ as the eternal Word, the Light of the world, and the source of life for all who believe. If you missed the message or need a reminder of its power, here’s a recap and encouragement for your week.
Jesus, the Eternal Word
In John 1:1-5, we were reminded of who Jesus is:
The greatness of Jesus calls us to trust Him not just as a figure from history but as the living, powerful Savior who holds all things together.
Light in the Darkness
One of the most comforting truths we explored is that “the Light shines in the darkness, and the darkness did not comprehend it” (John 1:5). This means that no matter how overwhelming the darkness in our lives may seem—whether it’s sin, sorrow, or fear—it cannot overcome the light of Christ.
We looked at practical ways to let the light of Jesus shine in our lives this week:
The Life Only Jesus Can Give
We also saw how Jesus offers life—not just physical existence but true, abundant, eternal life. This is a gift we can receive when we believe in Him.
If you haven’t yet trusted Jesus as your Savior, it’s not too late. Jesus’ invitation is open to you. As John 20:31 reminds us, “these have been written so that you may believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God, and that by believing you may have life in His name.”
What’s Next?
As we continue our Believe series, let’s ask ourselves:
Next Sunday, we’ll dive deeper into the Gospel of John as we see even more of Jesus’ life-changing power.
Encouragement for the Week
Take this truth with you: Jesus, the eternal Word, is with you. His light shines in the darkness, and His life is available to all who believe. You are not alone in your struggles—turn to Him, trust Him, and let Him guide your steps.
If this sermon spoke to your heart, we’d love to hear about it! Share your thoughts in the comments or reach out to us personally. And if you made the decision to trust Jesus as your Savior, let us know so we can celebrate with you and help you take your next steps in faith.

- He is eternal, existing before time and creation.
- He is God, co-equal with the Father and the Spirit, involved in creating all things.
- He is the Word, the living expression of God’s truth and love.
- Spend time in the Word daily. Let His truth illuminate your path.
- Reflect His light by showing kindness, love, and forgiveness to those around you.
- Share the hope of Jesus with someone who may feel lost in the darkness.
- Are we truly walking in the light of Christ each day?
- How can we reflect His light in a world that desperately needs hope?
Next Sunday, we’ll dive deeper into the Gospel of John as we see even more of Jesus’ life-changing power.
