We Have A God We Cannot Fathom

Good Morning,

17The LORD said to Moses, “I will also do this thing of which you have spoken; for you have found favor in My sight and I have known you by name.”
18Then Moses said, “I pray You, show me Your glory!”

New American Standard Bible: 1995 Update (La Habra, CA: The Lockman Foundation, 1995), Ex 33:17–18.

I don’t think we realize how incredible these 5 words are, how incredible this request is before God unless we realize who is asking it. Don’t forget that this is the guy who was walking one day and came in contact with a burning bush that wouldn’t consume itself, but it was burning on fire. A voice is speaking to him from this bush. This is the guy who is on the front lines seeing all these plagues happen on the people of Egypt. This is the guy who is the first one to take a step into the middle of the Red Sea. This is the guy who has prayed and food fell from heaven. This is the guy that when no one else could go and meet with God on the mountain, this is the guy who got to go. He is the one in the tent of meeting. If there is anyone who had seen the glory of God, it’s Moses.

Moses had seen all these things, but there was still a holy dissatisfaction. You see when you witness the glory of God, it is stronger than any earthly addiction you can think of. Once you’ve seen it, you want to see it again, and Moses wanted to see it again. The church’s problem is that many of its members have never seen the glory of God. If they had, there would not be so much strife in churches today. There would not be immature Christians. We would all be continually seeking God’s glory, and how could there be any strife in that today.
Folks, we need to realize who is in control today. We need to realize that it is not us. If we don’t we will go through this life, and never see the glory of God. We will go through this life apart of from the power of the presence of God.

There is too much at stake for us to continue doing things they way we have always done things. There is too much at stake to continue living out our faith in such a passive way. There is too much at stake to put off being the church God has called us to be. There is too much at stake to agree with the bible in theory but to live as though its power is in inadequate. There is too much at stake to get caught up in "other things". People are dying and going to hell! There is too much at stake.

It is time to get serious. It is time actually live out the faith that you claim you have. It is time to stand up and say, "Here I am, send me." It is time to ignite!

Serving Him,

Bro. Joey
