After the Well: What Happens When Jesus Breaks Through

Hey Guys,

This past Sunday at New Hope Baptist Church, we opened the Word of God to John 4:1–30 and met a woman who didn’t expect her life to change that day.
She was drawing water at a well—alone, ashamed, and overlooked. But Jesus met her there. He crossed cultural, racial, and spiritual boundaries not to condemn her, but to offer her living water. And in one conversation, everything changed.
The message was titled: “Believe in the Savior Who Breaks Barriers”

We saw how Jesus:
  • Sought out the outcast – proving no one is beyond His reach.
  • Pierced through shame – not to wound, but to heal.
  • Revealed Himself clearly – offering salvation to the least likely.
  • Raised up a witness – using a once-silenced woman to awaken a town.
This passage reminds us that Jesus doesn’t avoid broken people—He pursues them.
“Come, see a man who told me all the things that I have done…” – John 4:29

That woman ran into her city, not with theological training, but with a testimony. And the result? “Many of the Samaritans believed in Him because of the word of the woman.” (John 4:39)

So what do we do now?
If you’re a believer:
  • Share your story. You don’t have to know everything—just tell what Jesus has done for you.
  • Look for divine appointments. Jesus “had to pass through Samaria” (v. 4)—and you may have to pass through some uncomfortable places this week, too.
  • Break through barriers. Whether it’s fear, prejudice, or convenience—let Jesus use you to reach someone unlikely.
If you’re still searching:
  • Jesus already knows your story.
  • He sees past your shame.
  • And He’s offering you living water—eternal life—right now.
“These things have been written so that you may believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God; and that by believing you may have life in His name.” – John 20:31

What’s Next?
This Sunday, we continue our “Believe: A Study of John” series with another life-changing encounter with Christ. Don’t miss it—and bring someone with you.
Until then, ask the Lord:
Who is my “Samaritan woman”? Who needs to hear what Jesus has done in my life?
? We’ve met Jesus at the well—now let’s go tell the city.
