Hey Guys,
What does true ministry look like? Is it preaching to massive crowds? Leading a well-known organization? Gaining followers and recognition?
Or is it something simpler, quieter, and more faithful?
This Sunday, we will continue our series, Believe: A Study of John, by looking at John 3:22-24 in a sermon titled “A Model for Ministry.” This passage gives us a powerful yet simple picture of what it means to serve in God’s Kingdom.
The Ministry of Jesus and John the Baptist
John 3:22-24 shows both Jesus and John the Baptist engaged in ministry—teaching, discipling, and baptizing. There is no rivalry between them, no competition, no attempt to gain a greater following. Instead, we see a humble, faithful approach to serving God.
Too often, we measure ministry by worldly standards—numbers, success, and influence. But John and Jesus show us that ministry is not about recognition but obedience.
This Sunday, we’ll unpack three key principles from this passage:
✅ The Priority of Ministry – Investing in People
✅ The Practice of Ministry – Obedience Over Recognition
✅ The Place of Ministry – Faithfulness in Every Season
Why This Sermon Matters
? For those feeling unnoticed in their service – This sermon will remind you that God sees your faithfulness, even when others don’t.
? For those who think ministry is only for pastors – You’ll see that every believer has a role to play in the Kingdom.
? For those seeking purpose – You’ll be challenged to serve where God has placed you, knowing that faithfulness, not fame, is what matters to God.
