Good morning,
There are many faithful mothers. To the faithful mothers, don't get discouraged. Know where the power comes from. The mother in Matt. 15 knew that the power to save and heal her daughter did not come from her. That power came from Jesus Christ.
To the faithful mothers, don't let anyone detract you from bringing your child to Jesus. Sadly, the mother in this passage met resistance from the one place that she never would have expected it, the disciples.
23But He did not answer her a word. And His disciples came and implored Him, saying, “Send her away, because she keeps shouting at us.”
New American Standard Bible: 1995 Update (La Habra, CA: The Lockman Foundation, 1995), Mt 15:23.
May this never be said of us at New Hope Baptist Church. Mothers, don't let "the disciples" prevent you from bringing your child to Jesus. There is power in Jesus, even if some of His followers don't believe He should be bothered by you. There is power in Jesus, even if some of His followers don't think you are worth His time. There is power in Jesus, even if some of His followers aren't listening to you.
24But He answered and said, “I was sent only to the lost sheep of the house of Israel.”
25But she came and began to bow down before Him, saying, “Lord, help me!”
26And He answered and said, “It is not good to take the children’s bread and throw it to the dogs.” 27But she said, “Yes, Lord; but even the dogs feed on the crumbs which fall from their masters’ table.” 28Then Jesus said to her, “O woman, your faith is great; it shall be done for you as you wish.” And her daughter was healed at once.
New American Standard Bible: 1995 Update (La Habra, CA: The Lockman Foundation, 1995), Mt 15:24–28.
11For no man can lay a foundation other than the one which is laid, which is Jesus Christ.
New American Standard Bible: 1995 Update (La Habra, CA: The Lockman Foundation, 1995), 1 Co 3:11.
Thank God for faithful mothers!
Serving Him,
Bro. Joey

I want you to notice that what Jesus honored was her faith. He said O woman your faith is great. Jesus put a premium on faith. Jesus honored faith. Jesus was more impressed with faith than anything else. Faith is the currency in the Kingdom of God.
It is not according to your finances, not according to your friends, not according to your fame, but it is according to your faith. It was her faith that won the victory and drove the demons out of her daughter. If we are to get the Lord's attention where our children are concerned we must have a faith that never gives up. We need faith in those early childhood years.
We must teach our children then about the basics of God's word. Mother, build a foundation of love for Jesus and His word under your children. The most important part of building a building of any kind is laying the foundation. The most important part of building the life of a child so that they will come to know God at an early age is the foundation.
11For no man can lay a foundation other than the one which is laid, which is Jesus Christ.
