When Faith Hears and Obeys: A Journey That Changes Everything

Hey Guys,

Have you ever found yourself standing at the edge of uncertainty—needing to make a decision, take a step, or trust God without knowing what the outcome will be?

That’s exactly where we find a desperate father in John 4:46–54. His son is dying. Time is running out. And his only hope lies with a man named Jesus.

This Sunday at New Hope Baptist Church, we’ll continue our sermon series “Believe: A Study of John” with a powerful message titled “When Faith Hears and Obeys.” We’ll look closely at this father’s journey from fear to faith—and how one act of obedience changed not just his son’s condition, but his entire household’s eternity.

? A Journey of Obedience
What makes this story so striking is not just the miracle—it’s the faith-filled obedience that came before it.
Jesus simply told the man, “Go; your son lives.”
And he went.
No proof. No sign. No visible evidence. Just a word from the Lord—and a long walk of trust.

This story challenges all of us to ask:
  • Will I trust God’s Word even when I can’t see the outcome?
  • Is my faith rooted in who Jesus is—or just what He can do for me?
  • Am I waiting for a sign, or walking in obedience?

? What You’ll Discover This Sunday
In this week’s message, we’ll explore how real faith:
  • Responds to the Word of Christ
  • Relies on the Authority of Christ
  • Results in the Power of Christ

You’ll be encouraged, challenged, and reminded that Jesus is not looking for shallow, sign-seeking belief. He’s calling us to a living faith—the kind that listens, obeys, and walks forward in trust.
Whether you’re in a season of desperation, standing at a crossroads, or just needing spiritual direction—this message is for you.
