After the Amen, The Mission is Still Before Us

Hey Guys,

This past Sunday, we heard a powerful call from the words of Jesus in John 4:31–38 — a call to lift up our eyes, to see the world around us not through the lens of routine or comfort, but through the eyes of eternity. Jesus told His disciples that the harvest is not coming someday — it’s here. It’s now.

“Behold, I say to you, lift up your eyes and look at the fields, that they are white for harvest.” (John 4:35)

Many of us were stirred. We were challenged to make the gospel our highest priority, to stop waiting for the perfect moment to share Christ, and to start laboring in the field that God has already prepared. The Holy Spirit reminded us that the mission is not just for missionaries or pastors — it is for every believer.

But here’s the real test: what will we do after the sermon is over?
Will the urgency of the harvest fade by Monday morning?
Will the burden for lost souls slip behind a week of tasks and worries?
Or will we carry the message with us — into our homes, workplaces, schools, and neighborhoods?

Let me encourage you with three simple ways to respond this week:
  1. Pray for laborers — Jesus said in Luke 10:2, “The harvest is plentiful, but the laborers are few.” Pray that God would raise up workers — and be willing to be one of them.
  2. Start the conversation — Whether it’s a friend, coworker, or family member, take the next step. Invite them to church. Share your testimony. Ask them about their spiritual life. The fields are ready.
  3. Don’t grow weary — Remember, you may be sowing today what someone else will reap tomorrow. God uses every act of obedience.

Our prayer as a church is that we wouldn’t just hear the Word but do the Word. That we wouldn’t just agree that the mission is important — but live like it is.
Because the gospel is above all.
And the mission is still before us.
Let’s go.
Let’s labor.
Let’s believe.

Serving Him,

Bro. Joey
